Slovenia, WWII: two young orphans, German Lotti (Evelyne Wohlfeiler) and a Slovenian boy named Marko (Tugo Štiglic), escape from a town which has just been bombed in a U.S. air raid. They have heard someone talk about a lost valley where there is still peace and they set out to find it.
