Independence and Unity day and Holiday Greetings

 

Washington, 21 December 2010 - On 26 December we commemorate the proclamation of the independence plebiscite results announced 20 years ago. On this plebiscite the values of independence and unity were brought to fruition in the expressed will to establish our own, independent and sovereign state.

On this important Slovenian holiday, the Embassy extends its sincere congratulations to all Slovenians both at home and abroad and of course especially to all those of you living in the United States of America. 

The Anniversary of the plebiscite and decision by Slovenians for their own state coincides with Christmas time. We would like to take this opportunity and wish you a Joyful, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
